MORPHE

Colour pencil, graphite and soft pastels on art paper - 42cm x 42cm

The meaning of this piece changed so many times throughout the process. This is not unusual for me, however the drawing kept morphing (hence the title) and altering. It started with the orientation of the figures and continued from there. Even after completing the piece, I have different emotions towards it.

As I write this, I feel this piece represents the old and new or future me. One feels defeated but with a fire burning beneath and the other has overcome past struggles and shedding his skin to a new life.
