THROUGH THE BLACK

Is a series of four small pieces. Each one started with a bold base colour, red, green, blue and yellow, then I covered them in black. I scratched back into the surface using a pin to bring out highlights and to reveal the colour beneath. Through colour and expression, each piece exposes a different mood, yet together they tell a shared story about identity.
