CONTAINMENT

This piece took me a while to start. Not because I didn’t know what to draw… but because I wasn’t sure I was ready to show myself like this.

Created with oil pastels using the sgraffito technique, layering colour and then scratching back into the surface. Almost like exposing something that was always there, just hidden underneath.

I loved how this process feels both destructive and delicate at the same time… like carving out of shadow.
